Sardinia Travel Guide
Sardinia, Italy has been a dream destination for travellers for many years. As we are always looking for a new travel experience, we choose Sardinia for our summer vacation in 2017. We had seen many pictures with inspiring landscapes! We have had heard so good things about local cuisine so we did not wait long and booked our flights. We choose to land in Olbia because this town on the northeast coast of Sardinia is close to all beaches we were interested in – Sah Teodoro, Costa Smeralda and La Maddalena archipelago.
The island of Sardinia is situated south of the French island of Corsica and north of the African continent. It is famous with Italian holidaymakers with the long stretch of white or even pink sand beaches, emerald waters and great possibilities for snorkeling and diving. Sardinia boasts some of the most popular resorts in Mediterranean – Porto Cervo and Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast).
The island contains thousand kilometers of coastline but the most frequented area by tourists is the northeastern part.

Sardinia is blessed with a pleasnt climate year-round. Winter is the the coldest and windiest time for sunbathers but it is a great season for sightseeing and taking landscape pictures. In sunny winter days in Sardinia one could wear a T-shirt. Be also prepared for strong winds.
